Big Screen Media chosen by Skoda and VW

Thursday, 12 June 2014 21:50 - Written by Big Screen Media

Big Screen Media have been contracted by A1 and WRP to provide various high resolution screens for the Volkswagen and Skoda stands at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014.

The event, which attracts thousands of spectators every year without fail, features all of the brands and manufacturers in the motoring world, with each brand always looking for new and innovative ideas for their stand.

This year, BSM were approached to provide an innovative solution to brands VW and Skoda, who were both looking for a discrete, but lightweight high-resolution screen solution, which would also be vibrant and create impact.

Once again, our flagship IDsn3 3mm LED product was chosen for the job, due to its ultra-lightweight design- just 3KG per tile very slim profile, allowing to be used even in the tightest of spaces.

Skoda will see 2 x 3.5m x 2m Screens, integrated as part of the stand, whilst VW will see a whopping 8m x 4.5m screen, which will be the main focal point of their Pavilion.

"The biggest feat of the VW stand- Says Operations Director Alex Hall, Is that the screen size the client wanted, actually exceeds 1920 Pixels wide. With the 4K domain not quite having reached the LED processing world yet, the challenge was to find a way to still utilise this particular screen size, but against a 1920 x 1080 input source. By utilising several Barco Image Pro II Image Processors, we have been able to create the perfect solution, allowing us to maintain the clients original concept and design"
