Ferrari choose Big Screen Media

Big Screen Media were proud to be awarded the exclusive contract with Ferrari to provide LED screen and broadcast package for the various UK Launches of their new flagship 458 Speciale sports car.

The brief was to come up with a bespoke concept for the car launch, but incorporating ideas other than standard flat screens. BSM chose to use its new 3mm ultra lightweight LED panels, which are also curvabe,- both concave and convex. The final design chosen was a 5m wide concave screen, which gave the look of being 'wrapped' around the car. As well as this BSM supplied a full VT package, along with a Blackmagic ATEM 2 M/E switcher and 1 M/E Panel, where Lower thirds and graphics were created for the presentation side of the events. Two Panasonic HE-60 Full HD Hothead cameras were positioned strategically around the car, to provide shots of the presenter, the car and audience anticipation shots throughout. A VT of each show was done using an Atomos Samurai.


Jersey Live 2013

Big Screen have just returned from Jersey after a long weekend at Jersey Live World Music Festival. The festival, now in its 10th year is one of the largest events held on the Island each year and attracts people from the mainland as well as locals.

BSM worked alongside Production Hire to supply 3 x LED Screens- 2 x iMags and one large 8m x 5m stage flown screen as a backdrop. A full OB Camera solution was also provided which consited of Sony and Panasonic Remote heads.

The festival saw Fatboy Slim and Example headline, with Fatboy's show utilising the most creative visual experience to keep the crowd entertained.


Big Screen Media get royal seal of approval

Big Screen Media get the Royal Seal of Approval, after being contracted to supply the large stage iMag screens and Broadcast equipment for the Queens Coronation Festival.

BSM were contracted by theatrical giant, Hawthorn Theatrical to supply 2 x 35 Sqm LED Screens, which flanked the impressive main stage for the duration of the Coronation Festival. Big Screen also supplied various broadcast equipment used to relay the live footage onto the two huge screens, which included Sony remote hothead cameras and several Cobham Microwave video links.

The screens were made from 70 Sqm of Flyer 12.

Canary Wharf Summer Screens a big hit

Canary Wharf Summer Screens are part of a 2 month installation in Canada Square at Canary Wharf, which is held across the summer each year. The 2013 event saw Big Screen Media secure the contract to supply the two large outdoor LED screens and the audio visual equipment required to relay the various live feeds and IPTV feeds from the various televised events shown on the screens over June, July and August.

Cowes Week 2013 a huge success

Cowes Week, which is one of the biggest sailing regattas worldwide, is held annually on Big Screen Media's home turf on the Isle of Wight. The event which attracts over 100,000 visitors now relies on extensive media coverage in order to bring spectators closer to the sailing action.

Big Screen Media were first officially contract by Cowes Week Ltd 3 years ago to supply the network of large LED screens across Cowes to show all of the sailing action and results. But now having grown more, BSM now also supply all of the Broadcast facilities to produce the live footage of the racing, which is then relayed to all of the large screen, as well as across cable TV and the Internet,- allowing spectators to view on their Smartphones and Tablets.

The hub of the Broadcast setup was based at the world renowned Royal Yacht Squadron in Cowes, where BSM supplied a Blackmagic ATEM 2 M/E Switching platform which incorporated 3 x Sony SD Camera Channels, 3 x Sony Remote Hothead systems and several microwave video links, one of which was used on a Helicopter to show the starts of the Rolex Fastnet race on the last weekend. Keyed graphics were also overlaid on to the main TX feed, showing current stats and the various classes out on the water.

For the LED Screens, over 60 Sqm of Flyer 12 was used to produce the various large screens across cowes, bringing the audience closer than ever to the sailing experience.
