31.05.2012- BSM get ready for the Olympics

With a very busy season litterally on the doorstep, Big Screen Media are preparing for a very busy summer. This year has seen extensive investment in new kit, such as new 6mm LED screen, truss structures and rigging equipment, Broadcast camera PPU's and HD Camera channels and also 10mm Screen, where this will be used on various contracts over the summer, including Weymouths Bayside Festival, which will feature live music stages, with entertainment and live footage of the olympics on 3 x large LED screens throughout the site. BSM will also be providing broadcast cameras and PPU to compliment the package.

THis will be along side a live -site screen for Eastbourne Council and a site relay screen for John Lewis. With the clash this year with the start of the Aberdeen Asset Cowes Week Regatta, BSM have had to invest in more equipment to staisfy the demands, however, this has been carefully planned as to not over invest, as seems to be the case with other companies. Operations Director, Alex Hall comments; 'A big mistake companies are making this year is heavily investing in new equipment, mainly to cover the Olympic events, however, what people are forgetting is that the Olympics is here for this year only, next year will also be a tough year for the events industry and its crucial not to over commit with investment this year to ensure on-going survival over the coming years'.
