05.08.11 BSM build big screen for Status Quo

To mark the start of Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week 2011, Status Quo performed live in Cowes Yacht Haven on the Isle of Wight.

Big Screen Media supplied a 16 sqm Lighthouse R10 screen and 3 x camera PPU to relay stage action from the pop legends to the audience. The event was a sell out, meaning the packed venue really benefited from the large screen. Advertising was also run in between the supporting acts.

 

 

 

12.08.11 Bembridge RNLI Lifeboat Station opening

Big Screen Media (BSM) were approached by the RNLI to supply an LED Screen for the official opening ceremony of the newly built RNLI lifeboat station in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight. The job consisted of supplying a 20 square metre LED screen on the green below the Bembridge lifeboat station, to enable spectators and well-wishes to watch the action up at the lifeboat station, where HRH the Princess Royal was present to open the lifeboat station and name a new lifeboat.

BSM supplied a 4 x Camera PPU, consisting of 1 x static camera, 2 x manned cameras on tripods and 1 x roaming wireless camera with microwave link. The whole event was also recorded via the final mix which was also sent to the LED screen via Fiber Link along with audio from the ceremony.

Firmly established among the top British food festivals, the Garlic Festival is always a highlight of summer on the Isle of Wight and has been regularly singled out for praise in the national press and on TV.

The popular and long running Garlic Festival always has lots of entertainment and live acts across the weekend. To enhance the event even more this year, Big Screen Media were asked to supply 2 x screens, one 20 square metre on truss support by the main stage and a smaller 12 square metre on truss support by the arena, giving spectators a new dimension to viewing the live acts, such as the Vander Brothers and Tony and Amanda Brutus. On stage also were local acts and 90’s pop trio Dodgy.

Advertising also ran throughout the event, relayed to both screens via laptop. All feeds were relayed and distributed via Panasonic HMX-100.

The world's first ever sail-in cinema capped eight days of success at Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week 2011 for Big Screen Media, specialists in large format LED and digital display solutions. Big Screen Media erected a massive 80 square metre LED screen on Cowes Esplanade facing out to sea for the inaugural 'open water' cinema experience on the Friday night of the sailing regatta. Hundreds of boats dropped anchor to enjoy a showing of Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. Ingeniously, the audio for the film was transmitted via Cowes Radio, and small Talisker radios were also distributed amongst the movie watchers on the water.

23.09.11 Big Screen Media created a big splash for Cowes Week

 A total of five screens were supplied for 2011 Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week sailing regatta on the Isle of Wight.

Big Screen Media worked alongside Cowes Week Ltd and Next Generation Results to display Event TV on all the screens throughout the Week. Advertising and live feeds were also shown. For the first time ever for Cowes Week, a live video link from out on the water, using microwave link to the shore was trialled and worked very well and will be used for next year's event. BSM’s network of signage screens around Cowes also streamed Event TV, allowing the people to watch the action from the comfort of the pubs and bars in Cowes.
